On 8 October, three representatives from each of the schools in the Alvaiázere Cluster, accompanied by three teachers, travelled to Sintra where, in the morning, they went on stage as part of the recognition of Eco-Clusters, a distinction awarded by the Blue Flag Association to clusters in which all schools achieved the Green Flag in the previous year, as a result of the work carried out for the benefit of the environment. After lunch in the green area of the Military Academy, they attended the Eco-Schools gala, which included a performance by Filipe Pinto, the singing of the Eco-Schools Anthem by the Porto Conservatoire of Music and two other award-winning schools. After an acrobatic gymnastics display, those present watched and danced to the music of Carlão, the special guest everyone had been waiting for. Finally, the districts were called in turn, and the two oldest schools went on stage to represent all the others.
This participation, as well as being an occasion for socialising and learning, represents an award for the Cluster’s schools, and the support of the Municipality, both in the activities carried out and in providing transport, deserves to be noted.
