The CATL 2,3 de Alvaiázere after-school activities centre, run by Cáritas Coimbra, is at the main school, Escola Básica e Secundária Dr. Manuel Ribeiro Ferreira.
During term time, the CATL is open from 10:00 to 18:30, including at lunchtime, and during the school holidays from 9:00 to 17:00. It aims to help children and young people build their personality and grow up healthy, with an emphasis on non-formal education, to create an environment that supports each young person’s all-round development and success at school, and to strengthen the links between families, the school and the community.
At the CATL, pupils can take part in cooking workshops, educational games, outings and walks, workshops in different areas, sports and themed parties. They can also have lunch, do their homework, spend time with their friends and join the activities planned for the school holidays (Christmas, Easter and summer).

Important notes
- For outdoor activities, children and young people should bring comfortable clothes and shoes, a warm top and a bottle of water.
- Meals are the responsibility of the participants, unless they are included in the activity plan.
- The activity plan may change because of external factors or the participants’ interests (weather, safety, among others).
- The centre is not responsible for damage to, theft or loss of mobile phones or other personal belongings.
- Fees for booked activities are not refunded if a participant drops out.
