Eco-Schools is an international environmental education programme for sustainability, coordinated in Portugal by ABAE (Associação Bandeira Azul de Ambiente e Educação, the Blue Flag Association for Environment and Education).
Every school in the Agrupamento de Escolas de Alvaiázere has been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag. This earned the school group recognition as an Eco-School Group, a distinction ABAE gives, for their work for the environment, to school groups in which every school has received the award.
